We’re going to Essen! Hall 2 E311

Hey there Peeps,

We hope this finds you well and enjoying some great games.

Things have been delightfully chaotic here in the Guntower as we race towards Spiel, so we’ve got lots of news to share:

• Guntower Games at Spiel Essen, Hall 2 E311

• Pandora Essen promos & Token update

• Carta Imperia Fulfilment

• Carta Imperia Examples of Play

• Carta Pledge Manager status

Guntower Games at Spiel Essen

Yep, we have a booth at Essen this year, and we’re in a great spot!

You can find us in Hall 2, Stand E311, just one booth away from the western entrance to the Galeria at the top of Hall 2, and directly opposite the Arcane Wonders stand.  Simply head towards the Arcane Wonders overhead banner and keep an eye out for our flag fluttering just to the left of it.

We’ll be running demos of Pandora and Carta Imperia all weekend, with selective demos of Panic Stations: the Pandora Celeste Card Game available on request.

Whether you’re interested in trying a game or simply popping by for a chat, please do visit and say hello. Meeting fellow gamers and our supporters is always one of our favourite parts of conventions.

And, of course, the alien Fluffies are getting very excited about the trip. In fact, they’re demanding that we bring even more of them along than usual – including the new ‘Spider’ Fluffies which are disturbingly huggable in a cutely sinister kind of way...

We’re hoping that we’ll have a ton of stock to sell, although we’ve hit an unexpected shipping delay that has left us cutting things finer than we’d like. While we won’t dwell on the details here, it does mean that some parts of our shipping may arrive later than planned.

That said, we will definitely have hordes of Fluffies, lots of Panic Stations! and a limited stock of Pandora Celeste to sell.  We’re also hoping that Carta Imperia will reach us in time, but more on that, below…

Pandora Essen ‘Promos’

This isn’t really a promo, but if you‘re a Pandora fan and visiting Spiel, you can get this for free at Essen.

As outlined in a previous newsletter, we’ve produced the missing Vents Web Token along with the Freezer Protocol suggested by Martijn in an earlier competition.

These are available free of charge to any who ask for them at our Essen stall 2E311, while supplies last.

If you can’t make it to Essen, we’ll make them available on our website after the fair for the cost of P&P only.

Carta Imperia Fulfilment

The good news: our games are in the air and winging their way to the Fulfilment Centres, ready to be shipped to all backers when they arrive.

The bad news:  unfortunately, they’re arriving more than a week later than we planned, which means we will not be able to fulfil before Essen.

As I said earlier, this delay has caused us sleepless nights and may even affect how much stock we have for sale at Essen.  If you want to read the full story, you’ll find it on our Kickstarter Update here.

If all goes well, Fulfilment should start in the US and EU before the end of October.

Fulfilment in the UK will now have to wait until we are back from Essen and had a chance to catch our breath. Rest assured it will be a priority of ours, and we will do all we can to get the games into your hands before the end of October as promised, but it’s gonna be buttock-clenchingly tight!

For those of you who selected Essen Pick-Up, this is in the lap of the Gods of Airfreight and Customs right now.  If the games don’t arrive in time for collection, we’ll ship them directly to you at no further cost.

We’re gutted that we couldn’t get these to you before Essen as planned and we’re really sorry for the delay.

Rest assured: they are on their way and we will get them to you as quickly as we can! Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Carta Examples of Play

I think you already know that Mike opted to post a set of comprehensive Examples of Play on our website, rather than try to squeeze them all into the printed rulebook.

This gives us several advantages:

• A more streamlined and manageable rulebook.

• It lets Mike give each example all the space it needs to fully explain what’s happening.

• It allows him to post more examples than printed pages would allow.

• It allows him to update those examples in response to questions from you guys.

• And it allows him to add new examples if and when they’re needed.

We can also post video examples alongside standard text ones, making it even easier to find the help you’re looking for.

You can browse the examples here on our Carta Examples of Play page.  This provides a link to every example listed.

To make navigation of the rules even easier, you’ll find a QR Code nested by the Title of every rule entry that has an online example.  Just scan the QR code with your phone and you’ll be taken to the Examples Page.

After all, this is the Year of the Fruitbat (all you Pratchett fans know exactly what I’m talking about) 😉🦇

Carta Pledge Manager

As things stand, all but 36 of you have completed the Carta Pledge Manager in Hive (thank you). Now that the games are in the air, we are locking the PM for Fulfilment, but the outstanding 36 can still fill in their addresses and pay for Shipping in Hive. We will be sending out final reminders just before we lock the PM, so please look out for them.

If you haven't received a reminder, please contact us at info@guntowergames.com

That’s it for now.  Back to frantically prepping for Essen.  Please do come and see us if you’re there, it would be lovely to meet you.

We’re at 2E311. Can’t wait to meet you there.
